シジュウカラの巣作り開始 The titmice have started building their nest.

我家では庭木に備えている巣箱で今年も3月25日（火）に3年連続で巣作りが始まりました。

一週間ほどかかるようですが、ペアで頻繁にコケ類は枯れた草類を運び込んで産卵、子育て用のベッドを作っています（下記ビデオ参照）。

（本によれば、巣作りはメスだけで行うと書いてありますが・・・・・）

時には入口のサイズよりも大きな材料を口にくわえて、運び込めないことがあり、私は笑いを抑えることができません。

On March 25th (Tuesday), for the third year in a row, tits began to build their nests in the nest boxes provided in our garden tree.

It seems to take about a week, but the pair frequently brings in dead mosses and grasses to make a bed for laying eggs and raising their young. (See the following video.)

(Some book says that nest building is done only by the female.)

Sometimes they can't carry in, with material bigger than the size of the entrance in their mouths, and I cannot contain my laughter.
