There is the industrial meaning of hybrid, which combines existing technology and equipment with new technology and equipment to make it better.
In automobiles, the power source is a gasoline engine and battery, which has been recognize as a practical and environmentally friendly method.
Home power sources can also be practical and better for the environment if they are hybridized by combining commercial (grid) power sources with private solar power generation and storage systems.
As I have posted previously, a small, highly efficient solar power generation and storage system of only 400W (one-tenth the size and price of existing residential roof-mounted systems) can supply power (20-30% of total usage) for air conditioners in summer and refrigerators and appliances in other seasons, contributing to the prevention of global climate change and reducing electricity rates.
