真夏の一夜 One night in midsummer

この時期、朝5時過ぎから10時頃まで、蝉たちは窓向こうの桜の木で大合唱し短い命を謳歌しています。

写真は昨夜、我が家の網戸を宿に一晩を過ごした蝉です。午前5時前、大合唱が始まる前に撮影しました。

At this time of year, from past 5:00 until around 10:00 in the morning, cicadas are enjoying their short lives by singing loudly in the cherry tree beyond the windows.

The photo shows a cicada that spent the night last night using the screen door of our house as its lodging. It was taken just before 5:00 a.m., before their chorus began.
