今年の野鳥　Wild birds around our house this year

例年、冬のこの時期には野山には食べる餌が少なくなり、我が家のミカンの餌台にはメジロやシジュウカラなどの野鳥が頻繁にやってきます。

しかし、今年は暖冬のおかげでまだ野山には餌がたくさんあるので、彼らの飛来回数は激減しています。

言い換えれば、今年は彼等には幸せなシーズンになっているということです。

その中で、シジュウカラは営巣のために昨年と同じ巣の下見に時々やってきています。

春の産卵～巣立ちまでの2か月間が今年も楽しみです。

Usually during this time of winter, there is less food for them to eat in the fields and mountains, and the wild birds such as white-eyes and/or tits frequently visit our tangerine feeder.

However, this year, thanks to the mild winter, there must be still plenty of food in the fields and mountains, so their frequency of flight to the feeder has been drastically reduced.

In other words, it is a happier season for them this year.

In the meantime, a pair of titmice sometimes come to inspect the same nest box as they used last year for nesting.

We are looking forward to the two-month period from egg laying to leaving the nest in spring again this year.
