司法通訳の仕事、直前キャンセル：

先日、傷害事件を起こしたある外国人に関して、担当弁護士さんの通訳として仕事をする予定でしたが、直前になって被疑者の都合でキャンセルになりました。

仕事の準備は内容により異なりますが、傷害事件の場合、通訳としては手続きの法的な流れ、調書作成のための法的な単語などを事前に整理し、暗記しておく必要があります。

ドタキャンは関係者のすべてに迷惑がかかることになりますので、決して良いことではありません。

色々な言語を母国語とする海外からの多くの人々が国内全体に共存している現在、問題も生じ、その処理も複雑になります。言語の障壁が関係者の不利益にならないことを祈っています。

今週月曜日（24日）からの5日連続の英語関連内容の投稿は今回で終了します。

The other day, I was asked to work as an interpreter for the lawyer in charge of a certain foreign national who had caused injury case, but at the last minute the work was cancelled due to the suspect's circumstances.

Preparation for the job depends on the nature of the case, but in the case of an injury case, as an interpreter, we need to organize and memorize the legal flow of the procedure and the legal vocabulary for making a statement in advance.

Canceling at the last minute is never a good idea, as it can cause problems for all parties involved.

With so many people from abroad, speaking many different languages, coexisting throughout the country, problems arise and can be complicated to handle. I hope that the language barrier will not be to the detriment of all concerned.
