アマチュア無線　　Amateur radio operation

趣味の王様と称されたアマチュア無線ですが、インターネットの普及とともにその局数が大幅に減少しています。

最近、向島をドライブ中、知人からアマチュア無線用の伸縮できるクランク型の重量タワーを所有している家に案内され、そのサイズと重厚さに圧倒されました。

一週間後、この家にアマチュア無線従事者（JA3DGE）を訪ね、彼のシャック（写真上段）で色々とお話をうかがい、大変楽しい時間を過ごしました。

この方はモールス信号を使った電信通信を得意とされており、何台かのモールス信号電信機、無線機、交換カード、アイボールミーティング（直接会うこと）の写真などを拝見しました。

アマチュア無線の楽しみ方は人それぞれです。

私（JE4FTP）は海外のアマチュア無線従事者との会話が目的で1980年代にアマチュア無線を始め、無線機とアンテナを設置し、約20年間、北米やアジア、オーストラリアの間で多くの交信を楽しみました。（写真下段）

おかげで、多くの無線仲間とめぐり合い、アメリカやフィリピンには何度も訪問もし、直接彼らと面会しました。

Amateur radio was once called the king of hobbies, but with the spread of the Internet, the number of amateur radio stations has been drastically decreasing.

Recently, while driving around Mukaishima Island in our ciy of Onomichi, a friend of mine took me to a house where a telescoping crank-type heavy tower for amateur radio has been installed, whose size and massiveness I was overwhelmed by.

One week later I visited the amateur radio operator (JA3DGE) at this house and had a very pleasant time talking with him in his shack (Upper row of the photos).

He was very good at telegraphic communication using Morse code, and I saw several Morse code telegraph machines, radios, exchanged cards, and photos of eye-ball meetings (meeting in person).

Everyone can enjoy amateur radios in different ways.

I (JE4FTP) started the radio amateur operation in the 1980s to talk with radio amateurs overseas, setting up a radio and antenna, and enjoyed many communications between Japan and North America, Asia and Australia for about 20 years. (Lower row of photos)

Thanks to this, I could get acquainted with many radio friends and visit them in the U.S. and the Philippines many times to have direct talking in person.

今では私もかつてのハム仲間の数名とインターネットを通じてTV電話で会話を楽しんでいます。

Now I have been enjoying talking with some of my former ham friends via TV phone over the Internet.
