身の回りの博士　　Doctors all around me

病気や健康に関して、都度、お世話になっているお医者さんは、ご存じの通り、医学博士の方々です。

私が20歳代に勤務していた東洋紡の研究所には理工系の博士が多くおり、彼らを尊敬していました。

30歳前に会社を離れても、県内の技術センターで数名の工学博士、農学博士、理学博士にお目にかかり、仕事上で付き合っていた会社の関係者にも理学博士がいました。

個人的に身近では、私たちの子供のパートナーの弟さんが理学博士で、応用物理学の分野で色々な賞を受賞し、その成果は海外の有名な科学雑誌にも掲載されており、感心しています。

そして、最近、知人を介して間接的に情報を得た人が2022年の生理学・医学ノーベル賞受賞者のスバンテ・ペーボ博士です。まだ直接お目にかかってはいませんので、可能ならお目にかかりたいです。

このように改めて見回すと、身の回りには多くの博士号取得者がいるものですね。

是非、これら博士の皆さんにあやかって少しはましな人間になりたいものです。

As you know, the doctors who take care of us each time we are ill are, as you know, M.D.s.

when I was in my 20s, I respected the many doctors of science and engineering in the laboratories of TOYOBO where I had worked for.

Even after I left the company before I turned 30, I met several PhDs in engineering, agriculture, and science at the prefectural technical centers, and some companies related to my business had PhDs in science.

Personally close to me, the younger brother of our child's partner is a Doctor of Science, who has won various awards in applied physics and his achievements have been published in well-known foreign scientific journals, which I admire.

And the person I recently got information about indirectly through an acquaintance of mine is Dr. Svante Pääbo, the 2022 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine. I have not met him in person and want to meet him if possible.

Thus, looking around once again, there are many PhDs around me.

I would like to follow in their footsteps and become a better person.
