ポタリング　　Puttering

昨日、初めてテレビで見かけた言葉です。

ウィキペディアによれば、ポタリングは和製英語で、目的地を特に定めることなく気分や体調に合わせて周辺を自転車でめぐること、一人か家族連れや気の合う仲間で、近郊を「散歩」程度に軽くサイクリングすること、と記述してあります。

この定義に従えば、私のEバイク巡りはサイクリングよりもポタリングなのでしょう。

今日11日は雨模様でポタリングは無理なようですが。

I first saw this term on TV yesterday.

According to Wikipedia in Japanese, "Puttering" is a Japanese English word that refers to cycling around the neighborhood according to one's mood or physical condition, without a specific destination, or to a light "stroll" around the neighborhood, either alone or with a family or a group of like-minded friends.

Following this definition, my e-bike tours are probably more puttering than cycling.

Today, the 11th, it is raining, so pottering seems to be impossible.
