独立、起業　　　Independence, Starting a Business

不動産仲介会社勤務の若者が会社を退職し、個人で不動産業を起業するという理由で後任の社員と一緒に挨拶に来ました。

30歳に達していない彼には若さという武器があります。

ただ、同じ不動産業界での仕事となり、元の会社との競争になるのでしょうから、100パーセント手放しでは喜べません。

起業はできることなら前職の経験を活かしながらも、十分な準備（長い時間と内容吟味が必要ですが）をして異業種分野でのスタートが好ましい、と私でしたらアドバイスします。

以前勤務した会社と同じ仕事は避け、新しい仕事では元の会社に頼らないことが真に自立することであり、大変な困難を伴いますが、これが起業成功の第一歩だと私は思います。

A young man who works for a real estate brokerage firm recently came to greet me with his successor because he is leaving the firm and starting his own real estate brokerage business.

Being not yet 30 years old, he has the advantage of youth.

However, he will be working in the same real estate industry and will probably be competing with his former company, so I am not 100 percent happy to let him go.

If I were his counselor, I would advise him to start a business in a different field with sufficient preparation (long time and careful examination are necessary though), while making use of his previous experience if possible.

Avoiding the same work as your former one and not relying on your former employer for your new work is the first step to truly becoming independent and I believe this is the first step to entrepreneurial success although it is very difficult.
