ばっさりカット　Drastic cut

家の垣根ツツジは花が枯れた後に見栄えを良くするために剪定作業をしますが、「揃える」程度では木も成長して徐々に大きくなり過ぎます。
今年は思い切って、垣根の厚みを一メートルから半分程度にするために中央部分から内側をバッサリと切り込みました。
再び葉が茂り、垣根らしく戻るには１、2年かかるでしょう。
プロならこんなひどいことはしないでしょう。
After enjoying the blossoms of the azalea tree fence in front of our house, I prune it to make it look better. But the tree grows every year and the fence becomes too thick.
Then I drastically cut the inside of the 100 cm thick fence by a half (50 cm) this year.
It may take a year or two for it to be back to a nice fence again with green leaves.
A professional pruner would never do a bad job like this.
