二代目、春もみじ　The second generation of spring maple

40数年前に初めて滋賀県の草津市に家を購入した時にもみじを植樹しました。
尾道にUターンした時、一緒に持ち帰ったそのもみじはで数年前に枯れたのですが、二代目が写真のように育って私の背丈ぐらいになっています。
これは「春もみじ」と言われるようで春に芽吹くと同時に葉が赤色です。
春には新緑の他のもみじとお互いに引き立て合うという色彩効果も生み出します。
We planted a maple tree in the small garden when we bought our first house in Kusatsu-cty, Shiga-prefecture near Kyoto a little more than 40 years ago.
When we came back to my hometown of Onomichi-city, we brought it back with us and re-planted it in the new garden.
The tree died down a few years ago, but the 2nd generation of the tree is now growing as tall as me as the picture shows.
This maple is called a spring maple because the newly coming out leaves in spring is red.
Many other maples usually have new yellow green leaves in spring so that the red ones among green ones have good color effect by highlighting each other.
