高校生からの挨拶　Greetings from high school students

数週間前、ウォーキングのために久しぶりに行った備後運動公園で全国高校野球の広島県大会が行われていた。
普段は大人がほとんどでお互いに軽い挨拶をするが、野球部部員だと思う高校生の大きな声には挨拶に元気をもらいました。
正確には比較対象ではないですが、高校野球はオリンピックよりうんと身近で、価値ある競技大会だと思います。
A few weeks ago I went to the regional sports park to have my walking exercise, finding that it was the time for the prefectural tournament of the national high school baseball tournament.
We adults usually greet each other softly but the high school students, who might be baseball players, gave us very loud greetings and encouraged us as well. 
The high school baseball championship is much closer to us and much more valuable than the Olympics, I think, though it can’t be compared with the later one exactly sure.
