1980年代に生まれたアメリカの若い世代の半分は彼らの両親よりも経済的に恵まれていないようで、そのためにいわゆるアメリカンドリームも色あせていっているようです。
貧しさの原因は生活費、特に住宅、教育、医療、育児などの費用負担の増加です。
色あせるアメリカンドリームの原因のいくつかとして、2007年～2009年の不況、ロボットに代表される科学技術の発達、政府の規制の多さなども挙げられています。
また、フォートウェイン在住のアメリカの友人と先日話したのですが、トランプ政権の貿易政策で物価が確実に上昇しているということです。
世界で最も裕福な国で起きていることは日本でも高い確率で起きることは容易に想像できます。
