田子の浦ゆうち出でてみれば 真白にそ富士の高嶺に 雪は降りける　Tago no ura yu uchi idete mireba mashironi so fuji no takane ni yuki wa furi keru:

『田子の浦ゆうち出でてみれば 真白にそ富士の高嶺に 雪は降りける』：
今朝、NHK番組「小さな旅」でのシーンで出てきたものを見ながら、万葉集（7世紀から8世紀）に詠まれているこの歌（山部赤人）、高校時代に学びましたが、を思い出しました。

This is one of Japanese poems in the 8th century anthology of Japanese poetry (Anthology of Myriad Leaves).
It means “When I am walking along the Tago coast, I can see the snow falling on the lofty peak of Mt. Fuji.”
One TV scene this morning just reminded me of this poem I learned in my high school days.
