外国語とこだわり　Insistence to acquisition of English skills

“英語を勉強する”と表現する場合、私は study は使用せず、learn を使用します。私は英語の研究者ではないので英語はstudy でなくlearn するものだと思うからです。
また、“英会話を教える”や“英会話教室”という表現も使いません。単語を教える、文法を教えることはできても英会話は教える対象になり得ないからです。会話力は自らが練習して会得する、学習するものだからです。
I usually say or write that I learn English and do not use the word of study because I am not a researcher on English. As for me, English is what I learn and not study.
I don’t use the expressions of teach English conversation and English conversation class, either. Teachers can teach English words and/or English grammar, but the conversational skills are what we practice, learn and obtain by ourselves and not what they can teach to others.
