ハカラメ（葉から芽）の季節　Season for Hakarame plant

小笠原のホテル・ホライズンでもらってきたハカラメですが、熱帯植物で冬が大の苦手で、尾道でも冬は戸外では枯れてしまします。昨シーズンは私の部屋に入れて冬を越しましたが、朝の気温が10度以上に上がる5月ではもう戸外でも大丈夫です。庭の土に戻してやりましたら、歯の緑色が数日で濃くなり艶がでてきました。

The hakarame (meaning buds from leaves) we have got from Hotel Horizon in Ogasawara is a tropical plant and can’t survive winter out of the house even in our area in Japan. So I kept it in my room last season. But it now is the season for the plant because of the higher temperature more than 10 degrees in the morning in May. It has become very well with much deeper green and shiny leaves back in the ground.
