お金は願望、条件、仮定？                                              Is money a wish, a condition or an assumption for us?

事実と異なることを伝える表現手段として英語には仮定法がありますが、多くの日本人には使い難い、理解しにくい表現方法かもしれません。
例えば、“お金があれば、旅行するのになあ。”と英語で言いたい場合、実際にはお金がない人（貧乏人）が言う場合と実際にはお金には困っていないような人が言う場合では表現が異なります。このような微妙な表現方法を上手に使い分けることができるようになると英語もおもしろくなります。
We Japanese do not have this grammar of subjunctive mood in Japanese so that many of us may not be good at using and/or understanding the mood in English. For example, the following two sentences are almost the same in Japanese.
“If I had money, I would make a trip.” “If I have money, I (can) make a trip.”
When we can use the two sentences quite differently, we may be able to enjoy using English.
