尾道と周辺市のホームページと自動翻訳　Automatic translation for the homepages of Onomichi and the surrounding cities

尾道とその東西南北、広島、岡山、松江、今治の5市の内でちゃんとした英語翻訳ホームページを作成、掲載しているのは広島市と松江市だけです。
多くの自治体のホームページは自動翻訳で外国語化されています。経費節約のためでしょう。これらの自動翻訳ページでは写真やPDFでの情報は当然ですが翻訳されませんので日本語のままですし、翻訳された内容も不自然な表現になっていることが多く見られます。そして、その責任は自動翻訳機械やソフトにある？と言わんばかりの注意書き（写真）があります。
このグローバル時代に真剣に海外に向けた情報発信かとその真剣度を疑われても仕方がないでしょう。
Among five cities of Onomichi, Hiroshima, Okayama, Matsue and Imabari, only two cities of Hiroshima and Matsue have their original respectable English written homepages.
Many homepages of the local cities in Japan are translated by the automatic translation system. It is because of cost-saving. The system can’t translate the Japanese written information in PDF or pictures and furthermore there are many strange translations seen here and there. The cautionary statement says as if the translation systems were responsible for the wrong or inferior translations, not the cities themselves. 
I wonder how much they are serious in the transmission of the local information to the world in this global era.
