ダウンサイジングと実力　Downsizing with ability

病気、高齢化や生活環境の変化に伴い、生活の簡素化という意味でダウンサイジング（小型化、経営合理化）は必要なことだと思えるような年齢になってきました。
その一つとして、葉書書面による年賀状を完全に止めました。但し、PCからご挨拶はお届けします。
ほとんどすべての企業の目標は反対のアップサイジング（大型化、経営拡大）で、政府もアップサイジング志向ですが多くの企業や国、地方自治体も否応なくダウンサイジングの道に入ってゆくような気がします。
レベルオフやダウンサイジング社会での生き方にはアップサイジング時代以上の工夫、知恵も必要かと思います。それをしのぐのが本当の実力です。

I may have reached the age to simplify and/or downsize my life because of diseases, aging and change of life environment. 
To carry it out, I have completely stopped sending New Year’s Greeting postcards and started to e-mail them instead. 
The natural goal for almost any business is upsizing and so is Japanese Government, but many businesses, national and local governments might be thrust into downsizing, I guess. 
It is necessary for us to make a wiser and more creative living in the leveled-off or downsizing society than it was in the upsizing period. It is the real ability to cope with this difficulty.
