国勢調査　National population census

調査票の配達のことですが、私の所は家の場所がわからないので事務所のポストに入れておいたとの電話連絡がありましたので、私の家の場所を詳しく説明し直接、届け直すようにその電話で伝えました。

今時、同じ地域内で、しかも番地まで書いてある場所がわからないから手っ取り早く他の場所に置いておけば良いと考えるのは手抜きそのものです。

給料をもらって行うプロの仕事ではない、とストレートに言いたかったが、ぐっとガマンして、回収の時に困るのでは？とやんわり？諭して？再配達させました。

無責任でいい加減な人がやっている感じはぬぐえません。

I got a phone call saying that our census paper had been posted at my office because she could not find our place. Then I explained exactly where our house is located and told her to deliver the paper directly to our house.

It is a slipshod piece of work to deliver that kind of paper to the substitute place easily found without making efforts in trying to find the proper delivering place in this day and age.

I wanted to tell her that she is not professional to get paid for her work, but I tolerated it without little complaint and told her that she might again have a difficulty when she collects the paper, persuading her to deliver it again to our place.

I can’t help feeling that irresponsible persons are involved in this census.
