佐原（さわら）　Sawara, an small old town near Tokyo

先々月、初めて訪れた佐原には偉人、伊能忠敬の生家を始め多くの歴史的建造物があります。伊能忠敬の生家も昨年の東北地方太平洋沖地震により壊れて修復中でした。写真は町中を流れる小野川で小船に一人だけ乗って撮影しました。お話した船頭さんは年配のご婦人でしたが、小船でお嫁入りしたとのことで、郷愁をそそりました。
The town I visited in the month before last has many historical buildings including the one where Mr. Tadataka Inoh, a great figure in Japan,was born. Some of the buildings as well as Mr. Inoh’s have been under restoration because they were badly damaged by Japan's Tohoku earthquake on March 11, 2011. I took the attached picture in a small boat as the only passenger. I talked with the old lady operator, finding that she married into a family in a boat, which made me feel a nostalgic air.
