伊能忠敬(2)、日本の偉人　Tadataka Inoh, a great figure in Japan

ご存知の通り、200年も前の1800年～1816年（彼の隠居後、55歳～71歳）で衛星による地図と同じくらい正確な日本地図（写真）を作成しました。更に、地球の周囲の計算もしていて、現在の値、40,077キロメートルと比較してもその誤差は1000分の一の単位であることが実に素晴らしいことです。
As may as about 200 years ago, his accomplishment of making the first precise map of Japan (picture) was made from 1800 to 1816 at his age of 55 to 71 years old after his retirement. It is also a great surprise that he calculated the the circumference of the earth, whose error is less than thousandth part compared with that of the current figures of 40,077 km.
