真の平和のために／高橋昭博元館長の言葉／通訳業務の一つ：
1982年にアメリカ合衆国の主要新聞社シカゴトリビューンの記者と広島原爆資料館の高橋昭博元館長とのインタビューを広島で通訳しました。写真はアメリカで発行されたその時の内容2ページ記事の内の1ページ部分です。高橋氏が“いつまでもお互いに憎み合ってはいけない、苦しみを克服しなければ真の平和は達成できない。”と言われたことを今も記憶しています。現在の日韓、日中関係にも言えることではないでしょうか。
To have real

In 1982, I served as interpreter for the interview between the Chicago Tribune newspaper reporter and Mr. Akihiro Takahashi, then the director of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. The picture shows the first page of two-page article published in USA. I still remember that Mr. Takahashi said,”We must not keep hating each other forever. Without overcoming the anguish, we do not have real peace.”This can be applied to Japan-Korea and Japan-China relations.
